The Lions Club
of Baroda is one of the premier clubs of Western India, sponsored
in 1957 by Lions International, a worldwide service organization.
Visualising the need for a good English Medium School, the
Baroda Lions Club (Main) declared to form an Educational Trust.
In June 1961 The Baroda Lions Club Education Trust was established
which subsequently started Baroda High School, Bagikhana in
same year. The premises were provide by His Highness, The
Maharaja of Baroda, Lt. Col. Sir Fatehsingh Rao Gaekwad at
a token rent of Re. 1/-. In 1964 Baroda School, ONGC was opened
in the O.N.G.C. premises to meet the needs of this Public
Sector Organisation, at their request. In 1974. Government
of Gujarat allotted a plot of land in Alkapuri and Baroda
High School, Alkapuri was started. In 1996, Baroda High School,
Danteshwar was started. |
