Now, I’m no expert, but I have been around teens enough to know how to communicate with them effectively and get them to listen to you. What is the difference between teenage and adult depression?

Depression in teens can look very different from depression in adults. The following symptoms of depression are more common in teenagers than in their adult counterparts:

How Can I Help My Overweight Teenager?

Accept, support and encourage your teen. Many of your teen’s feelings and thoughts about themselves come from how they perceive their parents and friend see them. The more you accept your teen for who he/she is, the more he/she will be able to accept him/her self. Be there to listen when he/she needs to talk without lecturing or trying to fix the problem. Learn about body image and help your teen understand what body image is and how it affects his/her self-esteem. Teach him/her to be media literate.

Reading is a habit upon which lies the foundation of an individual. Not only accepted as a leisure activity but spending quality time .Reading expands one’s horizon of knowledge to manifold. Since time immemorial, reading has always been religiously practiced by great people. They have made reading an intrinsic part of their daily routine…be it reading newspaper, magazine or any novella. The education system has also recognized its significance and has inculcated this habit of reading at the primary level to promote this art among students of all age groups.

Applying The Decision Making Model In Six Steps

Lions Quest SFA- The school Climate Component

A Positive School Climate is vital in creating responsive, effective schools. School Climate – The school’s mood and atmosphere affects the way people treat one another, the appearance of the building, student discipline, the conversation in the teachers’ staff room and most importantly, whether students are happy and successful.
In the Lions Quest Skills for Adolescence programme, the school Climate component extends the positive impact of the programme form individual classrooms throughout the school.

Lions Quest SFA Teachers Training Workshop

Baroda Lions Club Education Trust is celebrating their Golden Jubilee Year(2010-11) and has decided to give a maximum thrust to Lions Quest – Skills for Adolescence (SFA) programme in all the four branches Bagikhana, ONGC, Alkapuri, Danteshwar, as well as Baroda Lions School (Self –Financed), which are managed by them. Lions Quest – Skills for Adolescence (SFA) program is a structured program and which is incorporated as a part of their regular curriculum for students of class 6th, 7th & 8th to gain positive attitudes and important life skills through easy-to-use classroom materials, high quality staff development and important community partnerships. In order to meet the requirement of SFA Trained Teachers for all the branches, Lions Quest Skills for Adolescence Teachers Training workshop was organized by BLCET On 25th, 26th & 27th June 2010. Total 35 Teachers took the training under the guidance of International Trainer Ms. Rekha Shah. All the teachers enthusiastically participated in this workshop. More than 1500 children will be benefited by making them aware about bodily changes, helped to improve communication skills for increasing self-confidence, manage emotions positively, take correct decisions, and opt for healthy living and drug-free life.
